Looking back at Ugly Love

Even though it’s been two years since I read this, I can still clearly remember the feeling of binging it in just two days. It’s one of those rare bestsellers that actually lives up to the hype, mostly because the emotional turbulence is so addictive. It’s not a “hidden” find by any means—everyone knows Colleen Hoover—but the way this specific story hooks into you is unique.

When I first put this on my Reviews page, I talked about how it keeps your heart active from start to finish. Looking back on it now, that’s still the best way to describe it. It’s a raw, messy experience that doesn’t try to play nice. The whole “no questions about the past” setup creates this constant, underlying tension that makes you want to see how it all crashes down.

It’s definitely for the reader who wants a story that demands to be finished in one sitting. It captures that heavy, realistic ache better than most, and even though it’s been a long time since I turned the last page, that “messy but beautiful” vibe is what still sticks with me.
